WE TRY CASES IN THE CITY OF FRANKLIN, VIRGINIA 

The primary law enforcement agency in Franklin is the City of Franklin Police Department.

Virginia State Police Troopers concentrate on traffic enforcement at or near U.S. Highway 58

Franklin City General District Court and Juvenile Domestic Relations District Court (5 ^th Judicial District) are located at 1020 Pretlow Street.

General District Court is held on Mondays - Judge W. P. Councill usually presides in General District Court

Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court is held on Wednesdays - Judge A. Talton-Harris and R.S. Brewbaker, Jr. preside in Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.

The City of Franklin does not have a Circuit Court.  All Circuit Court matters take place at Southampton County Circuit Court, 22350 Main Street, Courtland Virginia.  The Commonwealth's Attorney for Southampton County also prosecutes cases in the City of Franklin

Jail Information - Almost all inmates whose charges originated in the City of Franklin are housed in Western Tidewater Regional Jail, 2402 Godwin Boulevard, Suffolk, VA 23434.
