Motions for Reconsideration of SentenceSection 19.2 - 303 of the Code of Virginia allows a Judge to modify the sentence of a prisoner sentenced to jail at any time before its completion.
This code section also allows a Judge to modify a prison sentence before the inmate's transfer to a Department of Corrections receiving unit.
Dissatisfaction with one's sentence, jail conditions, or promise of reform are not reasons for a "time cut."
The existence of circumstances not known to the Judge as sentencing may form the basis of a potentially successful Motion under this Code Section. |
